Hope For Memphis

HOPE FOR SINGLE MOTHERS

Hope for Memphis Single Mothers & Children exists to transform lives and alleviate poverty—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—through a multi-generational community approach using a faith-based biblical foundation. Our focus is to provide a “Hope-filled future.”

We provide a hand-up not a hand-out where dignity, honor and value are established for everyone individually. We recognize that dignity, honor and value are found in relationship with God and others. An integral part of this hand-up approach of value is work. We are a ministry whose goal is to see individuals and families realize the fullness of their identities as producers and not just consumers in society. We partner with our women in this vision through weekly life coaching, formal education in cooperation with our local community college, weekly life skills classes, Bible study, financial planning and budgeting using the Financial Peace University tools, and mentoring/development for the children of Hope.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to see stronger communities, with Women of Hope families empowered to be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually prosperous.

OUR PURPOSE

Hope for Memphis works with at risk women and children. As we dream with God to care for the widows and orphans, we acknowledge that poverty runs deeper than just finances. Hope provides a community living experience with discipleship and transformational housing. The JOY and CHALLENGE of our lives is to see our residents get the education and tools to transform their situations.

Our multi-generational community living experience is designed and purposed to provide a nurturing family to help the new families of Hope develop emotionally and spiritually to live the life God created them to live. The Hope community is a covenant community. We ask each family to agree to set aside these 2-3 years with Hope for Memphis to dedicate their time, thoughts, emotions, and spirit to this process of transformation. The purpose of this dedicated time is to learn honor, respect, love, and truth in the ways of Jesus. This is an intentional process whereby each resident agrees to abstain from those things that would prove to be distractions from their growth and to invest their energy in transformation.

Our goal at Hope for Memphis is to set families free from dependencies to trust and be led by God in blessing others and giving back to the community. Generations will be permanently impacted through Jesus Christ and partners of Hope.

Will you catch the vision and join us?
